Volunteer with EmBark UW and Felicia's Donation Closet
"Felicias Donation Closet is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse. We provide furniture and household essentials to help individuals transition to safer living situations away from their abusers.
Often, women escaping domestic violence must leave their homes with only what they can carry. Our mission is to help these women create comfortable and welcoming environments for their families by delivering new and gently used items donated by our supporters.
We collaborate with partner agencies across Dane County to serve those in need, ensuring they receive the support they deserve during their difficult journey." -FDC
Volunteer activities will mainly include moving and lifting furniture into survivors new homes.
Transportation will be provided by EmBark for each volunteering session.
If you choose to use a personal vehicle, please be aware that it will be needed for the entire event, including travel to the warehouse and between moving locations. For this reason, using Uber is not a suitable alternative.
How to Volunteer:
This MUST be submitted BEFORE you sign up for a volunteering slot. On the application, be sure to select delivery day as your volunteer interest.

Volunteer with Shelter From the Storm
"Shelter From the Storm Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. Founded in 2005, our shelter has been a vital resource for our community and its beloved companion animals. We strive to provide a safe and loving environment for all animals and work tirelessly to find them forever homes."

Volunteer activities will include a combination of shelter duties (i.e. laundry, dishes, etc.) and animal socialization.

How to Volunteer:
Step 1: Complete the SFTS Volunteer Application
In the last question of the application, it asks about how you heard about SFTS. Members should put that they heard about it from the organization EmBark at UW-Madison that they are a member of.
Step 2: Complete The Online Orientation
Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 PM

Make sure that all steps are completed!
Step 4: Fill out the Volunteer Tracker
Self-record your completed steps on the tracker spreadsheet.
